The liver is the second biggest organ of our body and it has multiple functions. The main functions of the liver are:
1) Metabolism and storage of proteins, lipids, some vitamins (A, D, E, K) and minerals (iron, copper).
2) Purification of our body from foreign substances (alcohol, drugs, toxins, etc.).
3) Production of clotting factors.
4) Excretion of bile and bilirubin.
An unbalanced diet, the consumption of excessive saturated fatty foods, alcohol intake, several changes in lipid metabolism and accumulation of toxins can cause a block on the metabolism and result in the accumulation of fat in the form of triglycerides in the cells of the liver tissue. This can lead to liver dysfunction. As a result, a condition called hepatic steatosis (fatty liver) can be occurred.
Artichoke (Cynara Scolymus), dandelion (Taraxacum Officinalis) and choline contribute to the normal liver functions. Additionally, the artichoke has an antioxidant action and it promotes depurative functions of the body. Dandelion promotes the regularity of intestinal transit and digestive functions. Choline (Vitacholine™) contributes to lipid metabolism.
4 Hepa contains the silybin, extracted from milk thistle (Silybum Marianum) complexed with a phospholipid called phosphatidylcholine (Phosphocomplex®). Silybin is not easily absorbed by the human body because it has difficulty in passing through the intestinal lumen. Silybin complexed with phospholipids has a 3,5 times higher bioavailability than that of standard silybin.
4 Hepa softgels are based on olive oil, therefore an accompanying consumption of fatty foods while taking the product is not necessary to improve the absorption of the active ingredients.
Fish gelatine softgels are suitable for the digestive system, it does not cause a bad smell or taste.
4 Hepa contains four valuable active ingredients for the liver function, in a single softgel. Artichoke leaf extracts and dandelion root extracts contribute to the maintenance of normal liver function.
Phosphocomplex® is a registered trademark in which the silybin (an effective active ingredient of milk thistle) is complexed with phospholipids to grant it an oil-soluble characteristic. Thanks to this feature, it has a 3.5 higher effect than the standard products containing milk thistle. For more information, please visit: Phosphocomplex®.
Vitacholine™ is the registered trademark of choline (choline bitartrate) which promotes the safety of choline for its effects on the liver function and guarantees the reliability of the quality of this ingredient.
