The history of Sifar Ilaclari began in 1966 when a chemist from Turin, Dr. Parodi, went to Istanbul to establish pharmaceutical production for Lepetit SpA Group, one of the most important Italian companies of the time, which discovered Rifampicin. When the Italian company ceased its local activity, Dr. Parodi founded Sifar Ilaclari to continue the work of Lepetit as a representative in Turkey. In 1970, Ahmet Muderrisoglu, Dr. Parodi's son-in-law, a pharmacist from a family of pharmacists, took over the management of Sifar.

Sifar Ilaclari’s innovative approach continued in the 1980s with developments in the field of bioavailability, which indicates the degree and speed at which a drug reaches the systemic circulation. Lepetit SpA, with its brochure entitled “Bioavailability of Rifampicin”, in April 1982 highlighted the importance of the concept of bioavailability, especially in the production of Rifampicin. As a manufacturer for Lepetit, Sifar Ilaclari was the first company to introduce the concept of bioavailability to the Turkish pharmaceutical market.

At the beginning of the 21st century, Sifar Ilaclari, due to the developments both in Turkey and in the world, decided to stop the production of pharmaceuticals and move towards the food supplement market together with the third generation led by Sinan Muderrisoglu. The main goal of the company was to market food supplements of pharmaceutical quality. Therefore, in 2004, it incorporated the brand of food supplements "NEW LIFE", which was already present in the Turkish market. The production of the products was transferred to European manufacturers approved according to GMP processes.

Since 2005 to date, Sifar Ilaclari has introduced various innovative products with high concentration of Omega-3 to the Turkish market consumers under the brand name “New Life EFA”. Sifar became one of the first founding members of GOED (The Global Organization for EPA & DHA Omega-3s USA), which was established in 2006 to ensure the production of reliable and high-quality fish oil worldwide. In addition, since 2009 to date, each batch of Omega-3 EFA produced is marketed only after passing the IFOS (International Fish Oil Standards) inspection in “NUTRASOURCE DIAGNOSTIC” in Canada.

Sifar, with years of experience in the pharmaceutical sector, works with the principle that the quality of a product starts from the raw materials. They are selected from suppliers with high quality and effective products. Furthermore, only fish gelatine or vegetarian gelatine is used in gelatine capsules. All products in capsules or tablets are offered in blister packs, to guarantee hygiene at every use.

The adventure that the Turin chemist Dr. Parodi began in Istanbul in 1966, now returns to Italy with the third generation of the family. The New Life food supplement products, which have become leaders in many categories in the Turkish market, are presented to consumers under the Sifar Nutra brand starting from 2021.
